Oak View Farm/VHSA/BHSA Associate Pony Equitation.
Open to juniors on ponies. Judged on position, control, and guidance. Fences: small/medium 2', large 2'6". Judge will select at least one-fourth of class to return and show on the flat, and may ask riders to perform additional tests. Martingales are prohibited on the flat. Adult Pleasure Horse. Open to horses ridden by adults. May be combined with junior pleasure horse. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Junior Pleasure Horse. Open to horses ridden by juniors. May be combined with adult pleasure horse. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Pleasure Hunter Horse. Open to horses. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Four fences 2' to 2'3". Trotting permitted. Hopeful Hunter. Open to horses and ponies. No rider restrictions (adults may ride ponies). Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences varying from 2' to 2'3". Maiden Hunter. Open to horses and ponies in their first year of showing over fences at 2' or higher as of December 1 of the current show year. Low Hunter. Open to horses and ponies. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences varying from 2' to 2'6". Oak View Farm/VHSA/BHSA Associate Junior/Children's/Adult Equitation. Open to juniors and adults riding horses. Judged on position, control, and guidance. Fences from 2'6" to 2'9". Judge will select at least one-quarter of class to return and show on the flat, and may ask riders to perform additional tests. Junior/Children's/Adult Hunter. Open to horses ridden by juniors and adults. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences varying from 2'6" to 2'9". (May split if entries warrant.) Green Hunter. Open to horses in their first or second year of showing. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences varying from 2'6" to 2'9". Working Hunter. Open to horses. No rider restrictions. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences 3'. Leadline. Open to junior riders age 7 and under, to be lead at the walk. Class 19: Judged on turn out of mount and rider. Class 20: Judged on suitability and manners. Class 21: Judged on equitation. (Riders may not enter any other division.) Pre-Short Stirrup Equitation. Open to riders 10 and under. Riders may be asked to walk, trot, or perform simple equitation tasks. Riders not allowed to cross-enter classes where they will be asked to canter or jump. Short Stirrup Equitation. Open to juniors 12 and under riding ponies. Judged on position, control, and guidance. Fences 18". (Riders may cross enter only pleasure, short stirrup, and 18" schooling pony divisions.) Short Stirrup Hunter. Open to juniors 12 and under riding ponies. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences 18. (Riders may cross-enter only into pleasure, short stirrup equitation, and 18 schooling pony classes.) Student Equitation. Open to riders in their first or second year of showing over fences at 2' or higher as of December 1 of the current show year. Jumps will be a minimum of 2'. Judged as an equitation division. Points go to the rider. Pleasure Pony. Open to ponies ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners, and suitability. Pleasure Hunter Pony. Open to ponies ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Four fences 18". Trotting permitted. Schooling Pony Hunter. Open to ponies. No rider restrictions. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences 18" or 2'3". Green Pony Hunter. Open to ponies in their first year of showing, and ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences: small/medium 2', large 2'6". Small/Medium Pony Hunter. Open to ponies ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences: small/medium 2'. Large Pony Hunter. Open to ponies ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going. Fences 2'6". California Warm-up for Horses or Ponies A California warm-up is an unjudged warm-up class done prior to your division. Important notes: (1) You MUST notify the announcer before entering the ring. (2) Your California warm-up is NOT free. The cost is $15.00 for the trip. |
